Create alignment within your inner landscape and find more clarity, flow, and self-trust in your life.

About Depth Coaching

Depth Coaching is a purposeful process of delving into the layers of thought patterns and emotions, with the intention of uncovering deep-seated beliefs and motivations. This process takes place in a contemplative container that emphasizes a reflective and thoughtful approach based on introspection and mindful awareness.

This holistic coaching method is well-suited for individuals who appreciate an approach that is based on moments of quiet reflection and fostering a deeper connection with oneself and one's aspirations.

Think of our coaching container as a liminal space that is open, receptive, and emergent; a space where you will be guided through a transformative passage that helps you access your inner resources and integrate new, widened perspectives into your life.

Although it shares some similarities with various other types of coaching, its primary focus is not on achieving specific goals but rather on exploring internal resources, reevaluating outdated beliefs, and rewiring deeply ingrained patterns.

By creating alignment within our inner landscape, we find more clarity, flow, and self-trust in our lives and, along the way, create an Inner Ripple Effect.

Why Depth Coaching?

As Carl Jung wrote, "...most of the time, we walk in shoes too small for us. We often live small, adaptive lives, in response to the voices around us and the fears within us." Through Depth Coaching, we explore what it means to embrace our full potential—not through simply "thinking big" or avoiding "playing small," but by discovering our authentic sense of wholeness.

True largeness emerges not from external achievements but from fully embodying our authentic selves in our immediate sphere. When we embrace our small corner of the world as enough, we discover an internal expansiveness that transcends the need for external validation. This isn't about diminishing our impact—rather, it's about recognizing that meaningful change often begins in these intimate spaces.

Like jewels in Indra's Net, each of us holds a unique, purposeful place in the collective fabric of life. By fully inhabiting our small corner with presence and authenticity, we create ripples that touch lives in ways we might never imagine.

Stephen Cope's concept of the "disorienting dilemma” suggests that, at some point in our lives, we are all faced with a dilemma that challenges our beliefs. This often occurs when we are faced with challenges, either internal or external, that conflict with our expectations. To navigate these conflicts and move toward inner-outer alignment, we each need to reshape our understanding of the world and our role in it.

Difficult times, doubts, and personal struggles don't need to derail us from our purpose; in fact, they can help us discover a way forward as our authentic, whole selves.

Depth Coaching responds to the current, and urgent, need for helping spaces to move beyond formal diagnosis and treatment of the human condition, offering instead a compassionate container designed to soften the density of the times we’re living in. In this space, our coaching together remains rooted in empowering you toward meaningful progress, while also prioritizing the spaciousness needed for navigating the intricate terrain of the human experience.

This work is not intended to replace mental health counseling or serve as a treatment for any mental health diagnosis.

The Gateways

A Gateway has brought you to this work at this particular moment. But regardless of the Gateway you’re facing, our work together remains fundamentally the same.

  • Maiden to Mother Journey: The Maiden archetype symbolizes the healthy initiation phase of a woman's life, but becomes problematic if one remains stuck, failing to evolve into the Mature Feminine. Without evolution, this means aging without transformation, maturation, or self-actualization. This gateway is informed by the works of Sarah Durham Wilson and Maureen Murdock.

  • Grief: Loss can take on many different forms, including the passing of a loved one, reaching an unanticipated milestone, or waking up to a reality that diverges from one's expectations. Grief is not necessarily a condition one should strive to recover from but an opportunity for transformation. Grief can provide a period of profound clarity that can influence a new approach to one's values and purpose.

  • Unearthing Lineage Roots: Through the exploration of our lineage, we discover the power of retroactive healing and the stories of those who came before us, unlocking an even deeper understanding of ourselves.

  • Worthiness: Upon reconnecting with our authentic selves, we find that our inherent worth has always been within us, intact. I am here to assist you in liberating yourself from the narratives, thoughts, and beliefs that have ensnared and obscured the truth that you are already enough, at this very moment, just as you are.

  • Doubt: This affliction can show up in many forms: fear, uncertainty, anxiety, distrust, and more. We don’t release doubt but, instead, look to its many forms as an invitation for what wants our attention at this moment.

I want to note that even if these Gateways don’t quite name what you’re seeking, that’s okay. If you feel aligned with my approach and are interested in doing this work together, I encourage you to apply.

“Every time we are in space with one another I change, somedays it's loud and visible, other times it's small and quiet, almost imaginary, and if I look at it too closely it disappears. So I just let the magic sit inside me until it is ready to be seen and acted upon.”

- Julie Miller
